Researchers find that minority instructors have positive impact on minority students in US colleges

A team of researchers has found that college students in the US perform better when they are taught by instructors of the same race or ethnicity. The students are more likely to pass courses and less likely to drop-out. CIFAR’s Philip Oreopoulos, a Scholar in the Social Interactions, Identity and Well-being program, was part of the research team. Coverage of their findings stems from a working paper they have produced for the National Bureau of Economic Research in the United States.Read more
